Wren Houses

We have two species of wrens that nest in the Kansas City area. Both are cavity nesters and are commonly found in our area neighborhoods. The diminutive House Wren is a very aggressive species that does not like any other species nesting close to their territory. Their larger cousin, the Carolina Wren commonlly nest in potted plants, watering cans and just about any structure they find suitable. They both will use man-made nesting boxes that are built to their specifications.
